I have not been this exhausted since my daughter was newborn, about to have a breakdown!?

Please give me some direction, some tips or something. I only have one child, she is 17 months old and I am almost 6 months pregnant with #2. I work all night long and my husband works all day, so after a 12 hour shift, I come home and catch maybe 2 hours before my daughter wakes up, and then I only sleep when she naps, which is between about noon and two. Collectively, I get just shy of 5 hours of sleep each day, then I return to work at night and work another 12 hours. I do this for 4 days in a row.

This is not healthy for any person to work that much on such little sleep, and I know its not good for me especially since I'm pregnant. I am so exhausted and bless my husband, he knows I need the rest and is taking my daughter down to see his mom next week for a few days. He sees it as a chance for me to catch up on rest and etc.

But I feel like I cant work one more day! I am so tired of being tired! I cant quit my job, it's not possible in our situation, and I love my job, but lately. I'm just so exhausted! Is 6 months too early for my midwife to advise bed rest? I feel like that's where I'm headed, simply because of exhaustion.

Firstly, why is it out of the question to quit your job if your tired all the time? It would be impossible to be a capable mum to either child and you could be putting your unborn child at risk.

Yes, we all want the nice things in life and its nice to see people not leaving it up to the benefits services to provide for your family. However, I would look into some help from them as a temporary situation, so that you can just get some rest till the baby comes. You should also consider getting a job that fits more towards your family's requirements.
